The proposed study aims to better understand Chinese women's wishes to undertake transnational migration. The proposed study will also examine whether Chinese sexual minority and heterosexual women differ in their life goals (e.g. marriage, parenthood, and career development) based on their plans to migrate abroad versus stay in mainland China. The findings have the potential to inform theoretical understandings of diverse sexual identities as well as critical cultural ideologies and laws and policies regarding Chinese women's increasing transnational migrations.
