This project wishes to shed light on authors who have been purposefully forgotten from literary history (Suzanne Giroust de Morency, Elizabeth Guénard, Félicité de Choiseul-Meuse), who emancipated their expression on sexuality from the libertine novel and created a genre of their own.

Three major corporations came out of the Arkansas Ozarks in the mid-twentieth century: Walmart, Tyson Foods, and J.B. Hunt.

My book offers a critique of this ideal of transparency by turning to a global collection of African and African diasporic writers who reimagined ideals of ethical and equitable relations by revaluing opacity, nebulosity, unreadability, and the non-revelatory in their novels, poetry, and art.

This CGII Center Grant supports the next phase of targeted field research in the South Asian nation of Bhutan.

As part of a book in progress on the social and geographic proximities of the queer performance and activist cultures of downtown New York City in the 1970s, I will be conducting research in the Downtown Collection of the Fales Library, New York University.
