This project will investigate and understand the global implications of 5G technology and the discourses of hype surrounding 5G. Specifically, it addresses the myths that industry and government create about 5G, the ways industries, governments, and the press, talk about 5G deployment and how this talk impacts local/national government relations in the United States, and international relations between the United States, and China, South Korea, Finland, and Sweden – collectively the major manufacturers of 5G technology.
