The purpose of this project is to develop the STAR Global Autism Initiative as a new branch of UVa’s Supporting Transformative Autism Research (STAR).

Healthy Learners is an international NGO that developed an innovative, low-cost school health program in Zambia.

This project aims to address growing concerns about school safety, youth violence, and mental health in Mexico by adapting and implementing the evidence-based Coping Power Program.

This project aims to understand how to make computer science education equitable and accessible for learners across cultural, social, and economic contexts. 

Changing climate requires resilient ecological systems, human communities, and built environments.

Roversa is a low-cost, flexible robot that introduces students to physical, sequential programming skills with the ability to grow with the learner.

This project will partner a UVA global health student with a Cambodian community mental health team to develop a research project focused on family and community supports for people with severe mental illness in Cambodia.

In Bolivia, autism diagnoses are most often delayed or missed due to the scare number of healthcare professionals with autism training or expertise.

With our Kenyan partners, we will use these results to develop the “Pepea in Schools” teacher professional development program. 

This in-depth qualitative study examines Korean-American immigrant families’ processes of meaning-making and action in relation to the formal education of children, and the role of a Korean immigrant church community network.
