Movements and Directions in the Study of Capitalism (MADCAP) is an interdisciplinary working group for the study of capitalism in all its global articulations and variations.

My dissertation project examines the emergence of the new global order that replaced the Cold War world.

Based on textual analysis, historical materials and ethnographic research by Sinologists, Historians, Anthropologists and Archaeologists, this workshop explores social forms running from ancient China to their transformations across Indo-Pacific.

How did British society respond to the use of torture, the massacre of civilians, and other atrocities which took place in its overseas empire after 1945?

My work approaches Tibetan migration to India in the second half of the twentieth century through the longer history of lay and monastic movement in the region to ask new questions of nationalism and bureaucratic regimes of citizenship in South Asia.
