This grant will help allow me to present chapter 4 of my dissertation, which deals with the question of how global south countries can respond to brain drain, at the PPE Society Annual Meeting, to a multidisciplinary audience of political scientists, philosophers, and economists. Given how unequal global south countries tend to be, I argue that measures like compulsory service programs and exit taxes can be justified only if some egalitarian conditions are met: there should be a publicly funded education system, and a tax structure that ensures that those well-off discharge their duties to help their compatriots.
