My research examines how since Russia invaded Ukraine the European Union has budgeted and provided critical financial support from both the supranational EU level and the EU’s twenty-seven member states to aid President Zelensky and the Ukrainians.

Many occupier governments seek to permanently integrate occupied territories into their national borders.

My dissertation research seeks to develop a theory of citizen-state engagement in the context of Latin America’s urban informal settlements and how they engage with the state in the context of landslides and other environmental crises.

This preliminary research will focus on exploring and more fully if/how public procurements in Brazil can be used to reward campaign donations from firm donors.

My current research is focused on collective action and informal governance in the COVID-19 pandemic responses seen in the favelas of urban Brazil, particularly in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

In many newly emerging democracies, incumbent leaders use their control over election administration to gain unfair advantages at the ballot box.

As part of the field research for my master's thesis in Comparative Politics, I will be traveling to Israel this summer with a fellowship from Hebrew University.

This project will create an interdisciplinary and international research-education working group constituted by educators from universities, industry and NGO in US and China, to develop a multi-sited study that address the tangled geopolitics of innovation, sustainability and standardization of smart cities in the US-China context.
