Ethnography Lab series: Art / Activism / Application
- Nomi Dave (Critical & Comparative Studies)
- Rachel Wahl (Curry)
Academic knowledge production often involves imbalances of power, as researchers from the Global North have frequently conducted studies in marginalized communities in the Global South. Moreover, results are often circulated purely through academic channels, with little impact on community members themselves. In response, many researchers today are seeking more collaborative, equitable relationships with communities, and more creative formats for storytelling and knowledge dissemination. This series of talks, workshops, and field engagements brings together faculty, students, staff and communities from across grounds, across Charlottesville, and across the world to explore new ways to conduct ethnographic research and disseminate its results.
