Arising specifically because of the innovative responses to the restrictions on higher education brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, this research will focus on the Society for the Anthropology of Lowland South America's XIII conference to be hosted by UVa in June 2021. The XIII SALSA conference will be the first of its kind in the association's history to go virtual. The study settles primarily on this groups nonconventional attendees, their specific forms of knowledge acquisition, and exchange, with the intent to use its findings to see how they may contribute to producing a more inclusive modern university.
