This CGII Grant supports the study of South Asia IN and AT Virginia—in the Commonwealth and at the University of Virginia.  Our goal is to support the full range of scholarship on South Asia, which includes, but is not limited to, the study of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Tibet.  There is synergy and energy in interdisciplinary study of a particular geographic region across historical periods, and we pursue just this with faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, staff members and undergraduate participants from Virginia institutions and at UVa the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Architecture, Law, Engineering, Education, and Business.
