In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second Indochinese War, performance artists Ly Hoàng Ly (Vietnam) and Viet Lê (U.S.) will take part in a one-week artistic residency to commemorate the afterlives of war as well as the ongoing transformations of both Vietnam and the U.S. in its wake. Ly and Lê will each create a new work to premier at the end of their residency. There will also be a film screening and a half-day symposium that will contextualize their work within Asian American as well as other Southeast and East Asian histories of militarism, colonialism, migration, and resilience.
