Participatory Innovation Development in Agro-ecology through the PROLINNOVA community of practice
What does the future of farming look like and who should determine that? Three students and I will visit the International Partners Workshop of Promoting Local Innovation in agrecology and natural resource management (PROLINNOVA) in Kerala, India, in November to hear insightful responses to these questions. Farmer innovators, their communities and their grassroots supporters will argue that a) they are developing their own technological innovations to address economic, social and climate-related challenges to agriculture, b) that agro-ecological principles are central to their efforts, and c) that educational and research institutions, including universities, should support them as they lead agricultural innovation.
