This digital humanities project provides scholars, students, and people interested in the socio-cultural struggles of Latin American unregulated residential areas with an open-access digital repository of the artistic outcomes produced by slum communities in the past ten years (from photographs and graffiti, to music, fiction, and audio-visual material). In addition to collecting and recording existing resources, this website will continuously evolve incorporating podcasts, interviews, and talks in collaboration with the individuals, artists, NGOs, and other organizations involved in these artistic projects. The goal of this repository is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the artistic production of slums dwellers by speaking to questions of identity, race, diversity, and social justice.
