Ekaterina Dianina (Slavic Languages and Literatures) This monograph-length study explores the tragic dispersal of imperial art collections during the early Soviet period through emigration, neglect, and sale and problematizes contemporary efforts in post-Soviet society to repatriate the lost art treasures and reincorporate them into Russian cultural identity.
