This overarching project examines how artificial intelligence technologies are reshaping journalism and digital networks in North Macedonia and Türkiye through two complementary sub-projects. The first employs semi-structured interviews and newsroom observations in both countries to explore how journalists negotiate these tools in local contexts. The second uses Digital Humanities methods to analyze online discourse in forum spaces, linking institutional practices to narratives of public trust. By focusing on non-hegemonic linguistic environments, the project addresses a critical gap in scholarship on Global South media and offers an account of how AI-driven information moves from local production sites into global political contexts.
