How can we examine poetry and production from an environmental perspective? The funds granted from the CGII will be used to travel to Puerto Rico to visit the workshop of and conduct an interview with Nicole Cecilia Delgado, a well-known Spanish-language poet who also runs a Risograph print workshop called La Impresora [The Print Shop]. This travel is imperative for my dissertation as it will constitute the fieldwork for a related article about Delgado’s work and her book-making process, both deeply connected to the local landscape and physical labor, as examples of new environmentalism in the arts and of a larger resistance to the English-dominant imperialism of the global publishing industry.
