This project aims to advance scientific understanding of the potential value of information and
communication technologies (ICTs) to reduce gender-based violence (GBV). Although GBV imposes
substantial economic and social costs, the available policy tools are limited in either their effectiveness or
their scope for large-scale use. ICT’s ability to significantly reduce costs of vast outreach presents an
opportunity to overcome the impediments to increasing the scale of effective interventions. Using a series of experiments, we aim to investigate the viability of ICT as a lever to address intimate partner violence, the most prevalent form of GBV worldwide.
